Father Ted was a sitcom set on Craggy Island which is based of the west coast of Ireland. Craggy Island is basically a small Island inhabited by religious old people who beckon on the priests masses every week. There were 4 main characters:
Father Ted Crilly, Father Dougal McGuire, Father Jack Hackett, and Mrs Doyle who was the housekeeper.
The basic story given as to why Ted, Jack and Dougal they were put on this Island was simply: Punishment. Ted stole money from a charity and gambled in las vegas
Dougal is basically as stupid as you can get
And Jack is a full blown alchoholic
