Lots of new forums?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been thinking about making a big change to the board... and I am undecided... so I'll leave it up to you.
What I'm thinking is to create a forum for each subject. A sports forum, a politics forum, a gardening forum, a music forum, a TV and Movies forum, a news forum, a food & cooking forum and on and and on. Even subforums for some of them as well.
THIS section would be "Off Topic discussions" for all of those discussion topics that don't fit in any of the other sections.
This would create some work for the moderators though, we would need them to get busy moving topics from this section to the forums in which they would belong.
Maybe people would be more active if topics are segregated to their own forums. What do you think? Good idea? Bad idea? Is it nice and cozy just the way it is?
Vote as well as give the reason behind your vote.

To me it would not be an improvement if you seperat the forum. The simple reason for that is that i ain`t got the damn time to post in more than one place. I have a life and a job that keeps me busy

Dude
I'm not talking about new forum websites. I'm talking about new SECTIONS. You know what I mean? We have an introduction section, we're in the chat section, we have a hall of fame section. I'm just talking about adding new sections to EZ.

My 'yay' vote is definitely with reservations.
There is every possibility, that a particular thread, or threads, naturally diverge from one initial subject into another, or more even, while still keeping the underlying topic.
So, if a particular 'off-topic' thread gravitates into a political discussion - what do you do ?
You cannot rely on forking, and it would be wrong to move the thread into the politics forum.
I have more than a sneaking feeling, that moving threads can kill them off.
Perhaps leaving this Adult Chat Forum as it is would be best. It is tried and tested and works.
Maybe try out a Sports Forum, Music Forum for starters. See how it goes. You can always add or delete as you see fit.
Disclaimer - If you start a sports forum, I doubt you would see me in there. I have very limited interest in that subject.

Haven't we tried this before? The forums wound up getting deleted. But I voted yes cuz it's time for a change.

Not really. I just tried out a sports forum... and it wasn't very active... but maybe a bunch of new forums would trigger some activity... I don't know.

You can but try out some variations. No harm done if things don't pan out.
Newcomers may be tempted with diversity.
I cannot see that the current regulars would be stirred to more activity though. We can pretty much post what we like at present.

Hmmm... felinity, did you get a chance to vote? If not, you vote "Nay" right? Because right now its a tie. You're the tie breaker.
