Well, the Heavy Metal I listen to, make these bands sound like plain rock & roll or mabey more like Hard Rock. (FIve Finger Death Punch, Lamb of God, Killswitch ect)

Come to think of it though, I think people like Motor Head & Iron Maiden were heavier even then. They were the first bands I ever heard from that time period to use the double bass kick.
